At Eagle Venture Fund (EVF), our mission has always been to back bold entrepreneurs solving some of the world’s toughest problems. In Asia, that mission is taking shape through the groundbreaking work of Eagle Venture Lab Asia (EVLA) led by Dr. Carl Thong (EVF Partner), Tim Ong (EVLA’s CEO) and a dedicated leadership team. Their vision is clear: build transformative ventures that deliver both commercial success and deep social impact—what we call Direct Impact.
EVLA is more than an incubator. It's a co-founder, builder, and accelerator with a clear strategy: identify scalable opportunities, seed them early, support them with shared services, and drive them toward revenue and sustainable growth. The team leverages local expertise, global partnerships, and an operational structure that allows each startup to benefit from strategic resources in tech, marketing, and business development. They are also running an Asian tech focused pitch competition and have judges from across the globe involved to diligence the companies and make recommendations to help them get better.
Today, EVLA is actively building six of its own ventures, each with a unique mission and a powerful unfair advantage:
1. Entrepreneur Leadership Institute (ELI)
Sector: Education | Location: Singapore
ELI is transforming how entrepreneurship is taught in Asia. Most programs are too academic—ELI offers hands-on, subsidized, and faith-integrated training that equips real-world founders. With 10 programs already funded by SkillsFuture (Singapore’s national training subsidy), ELI is poised to scale rapidly. Led by passionate entrepreneur-in-residence Jessica, the institute builds on proprietary content and Eagle University resources, serving aspiring entrepreneurs across Asia.
2. Good Clinic
Sector: Healthcare | Location: Malaysia
An integrative medicine clinic offering services from diagnosis to lifestyle transformation. Good Clinic’s competitive advantage is that it will receive referrals from its sister-company, Health Online, a medical call center. Health Online, which serves 19 of Malaysia’s top 25 life insurance companies and already conducts pre-insurance medicals for thousands of insurance clients every month. This dramatically reduces Good Clinic’s Customer Acquisition Costs! With renovations nearing completion and operations launching soon, Good Clinic stands as a model of vertical integration and redemptive healthcare. Good Clinic was inspired by another Eagle portfolio company, Wise Medicine, an integrative chain of clinics in Zurich.
3. Wealth Management Academy of India
Sector: Financial Services | Location: India
India needs 30,000 new wealth managers. This venture answers the call by offering certification-based training in partnership with India’s top business schools (e.g., IIM). Leveraging on Chandan (CEO) and Carl’s existing relationships with major banks gives this venture both market and academic credibility. Launching June 4 in Mumbai, this academy helps wealth managers serve clients with a stewardship mindset—unlocking downstream impact through redemptive finance and philanthropy.
4. Pro-Sales.AI
Sector: AI & SaaS | Location: Singapore
Using AI to democratize strategic sales planning, this venture helps small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) access tools once reserved for big consultancies. Built on decades of proprietary sales IP from Carl’s company, Momenta, this SaaS product delivers tailored strategic coaching, sales simulations, and playbooks for teams that want to grow but can’t afford McKinsey.
5. mCoach AI
Sector: EdTech/AI | Location: Singapore
Imagine having a personal AI coach who role plays high-stakes meetings or presentations with you. That’s what this product does—for sales, leadership, and coaching scenarios. Developed to serve Momenta’s existing participants (5000+ learners annually), as well as leaders in Eagle Venture Fund & ELVA’s portfolio companies, it provides ongoing practice beyond the classroom. With a built-in user base and grant applications underway, this product merges education and personalization with scalable tech.Development is starting soon, with a government grant application pending for 50–70% cost coverage.
6. Madagascar Leadership Academy
Sector: Leadership Development | Location: Madagascar
Born from a conversation at the Christian Economic Forum, this academy is being developed in partnership with Madagascar’s president. Its mission: equip the nation’s top 1,000 civil leaders with ethical, strategic leadership skills to drive national development. The model borrows heavily from Singapore government’s national leadership and education system—localized for Madagascar’s context. A pitch to the president is pending within 4–6 weeks, signaling serious momentum.
Each of these ventures represents the Direct Impact model in action—where the growth of a business inherently advances the flourishing of people and communities. EVLA isn’t chasing trends; it’s building transformational ventures that scale purpose alongside profit.
As Carl shared, “We’re not just incubating startups—we’re co-creating a redemptive ecosystem across Asia.” For investors, advisors, and mission-aligned partners, the message is clear: if you want to participate in building a safer, freer, and more flourishing Asia, EVLA is open for collaboration.
